  • What designs & floor plans will Absolute Homes build?

    You have the option to build from one of our concept plans or work with our designer to create a tailored plan that best suits your section, lifestyle, and budget. If you prefer, we can start from scratch and design a home from the ground up to meet your requirements! We’re also happy to build to your existing plans.

  • How long have you been in the building industry?

  • Do you have a Contracting License?

    Yes, Absolute Homes is a registered LBP (Licenced Building Practitioner) and are a New Zealand Certified Builder.

  • How long does the build process take from start to finish?

    From Council Consent being issued to move-in date, the build typically takes 4-5 months. Full custom design homes will typically range from 6-8 months.

  • How much will it cost per square metre?

    The square metre cost of your build depends on a lot of factors, including the size of the house, the finish, the materials chosen, and the location of the build. As we work through the design stage, we’ll be able to get a clear picture of your square metre cost as we learn more about what you’re hoping to achieve in your final home. All specifications will be explained to you in detail prior to signing the fixed-price build contract. 

  • What is the payment schedule?

    Absolute Homes works off the New Zealand Certified Builders contract, which consists of stage payments. You won’t be invoiced for payment until you and the builder have signed off on each stage being complete. This also ensures you only pay for work that has been completed. 

  • What if the build goes over budget?

    Absolute Homes will offer you a fixed price contract before the build starts; having costed your specifications, we are transparent about what you’ll get for your money. We aim to maximise your investment by giving you the best value for money. We will ensure your concept plan is comprehensive and every detail explained prior to you signing the build contract.

  • Will I have a dedicated team working on my house?

    Absolutely! Builder-client communication is key to a successful build, and we pride ourselves on forming those relationships. Absolute Homes is the first point of contact when we’re building a house, and we are your builder through to the end. We are one of the few building companies to have our very own team of qualified builders. In addition to this, Owner and Director Chris Cawthray is personally involved in every build.

  • Do you offer a Guarantee?

    Yes – Absolute Homes offers the New Zealand Certified Builders 10-year Halo Guarantee and a 1-Year Service Guarantee.

  • Can you help with finding a section?

    Yes, we can help you if finding the right section has been challenging. Absolute Homes works closely with developers and real estate agents, and if you’re unsure about a particular section, give us a ring – we can meet you onsite (e.g. to discuss the position of your potential new home).

  • Can Absolute Homes help me find finance for my build?

    Yes, we can. We have good relationships with mortgage experts who specialise in first and second home buyers. They will ensure you receive the most competitive terms and conditions.
